"In life, as in fiction, pay attention to everyone. Secondary characters are main characters in their own stories."

– CG

Cambria is quick to point out the vast debt of gratitude she owes to those strong women who came before her - not only the public figures we all know and acknowledge, but those women who have no public persona but are the true backbone of feminism. She credits the lessons learned at home from her own mother and grandmother as being the cornerstone of her success. Religion also plays a key role in Cambria's life and philosophy. Judaism is part of her very essence. Embracing the history and traditions formed by a people who have endured so much, yet still strive to emerge from darkness into light, informs her every act. She's a passionate environmentalist, who views our stewardship of the planet through both practical and spiritual eyes. It's not enough to believe in climate change, she maintains. We must all do our part on a daily basis to combat it.

She's the author of The Poetry of Secrets, (Scholastic Press 2021) a young adult historical fiction novel set during the Spanish Inquisition. The story was inspired by a year sabbatical she took with her family to live in Madrid. She also co-authored The Down-to-Earth Guide to Global Warming, winner of the national Green Earth Book Award. Her writings have appeared in the L.A. Times Magazine, Parent News, Boys Life and the Los Angeles Jewish Journal. Her short play, Within Reach, was performed by the Jewish Women's Theatre. Prior to her career as a novelist, Cambria was an award-winning advertising copywriter.

Cambria has served on the boards of the Los Angeles Leadership Council of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), The Los Angeles Sustainability Collaborative, and University Synagogue.

She is the married mother of two adult children, and one teenager. Having lived through her own dark moments, she tries to instill in them the divine sense of wonder life holds, always advising them to approach each challenge as another opportunity to say yes.
